Forum plugin for wordpress

Does anyone know what the best forum plugin for wordpress is?

I have tried bbpress and forumpress but didn’t quite like the feel of them. I want something that looks and acts exactly like a real forum.

Have any of you tried simple press and what did you think of it?

Well, since you asked for the best, I’d say bbPress. 🙂

It’s what we’re using here, and it’s contributed to by many of the top WordPress contributors.

Anyway, take a look at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/tags/forums and check both the ratings and how many folks voted the plugin as working with WordPress 3.9.1. You can usually build a small yet great list that way.
