forum suggestions
-
As helpful as these forums usually are, I find them frustrating at times. Here are two issues I have and my suggestions for fixes:
– many times when I search for a problem I’m having I find DOZENS of threads where people have the same problem.. and other people chime in that they have the same problem.. but quite often that problem is NOT solved but the thread is “closed.” How does this help anyone? It’s just an archive of frustration. What if there was a way to mark some threads with a “problem solved!” icon of some sort? so in search results, we’d know which ones to click on first.
– search results sometimes yield threads that are 5 years old.. about versions of wordpress that are ancient. Since we select the version of WordPress we’re using when we post a new topic, isn’t it possible to note that version number in search results? or at least the open/close date of a thread? That way users could filter search results by what version of WP they’re asking about and avoid threads that are too old to still be relevant.
Thanks for listening!
