Just having a look now after I saw your post on reddit the other day. At glance everything looks useful and easy to use. What think though is still sorely missing in a so extensive and ambitious plugin like this is a way to backup and restore a configuration. I’d usually laboriously tweak, test and fine-tune on a stage site first, to reproduce into live only after I’m confident enough everything’s working as expected. Hope you’d consider such a feature in an upcoming version. Thanks!

@alx359 thanks for trying ASE out and dropping your feedback. I don’t think I posted anything on Reddit this year. Probably someone else? What’s the URL by the way… just curious.

As to your suggestion, it is well noted. I’m thinking of implementing that in a pro / paid version in the future, since this free version of ASE is already generous enough I believe. Would you be interested?

    Hey @qriouslad ,

Thanks for answering. Here’s the link I had saved for later inspection.

The plugin is nice, but being frank and constructive, I’m that kind of user that wouldn’t like to pay for yet another subscription for something that doesn’t directly aid to generate sales for it to pay for itself. There are many free tools that already do what the plugin does, albeit less conveniently. And were there isn’t, I’d prefer to program such tweak myself. Just my 2c.

@alx359 thanks for sharing the link. Great to know how people are viewing ASE. Valid points.

Thanks also for the frank feedback. The pro version would obviously have more useful features than just the backup/restore feature. While I try to provide a useful set of features in the free version and also trying to find ways to get people to sponsor the plugin, ultimately, this free version was intended primarily to give back to the community. Will be adding more features to it and polish existing ones, but wanted to be frank with you as well about the backup/restore feature.

Thanks again, and let me know if you have more feedback as you (maybe) use ASE more going forward.

@alx359 I’ve implemented a feature to export / import module settings in the soon-to-be-released Pro version of ASE. More specifically for people who manage more than 10 sites, i.e. higher-tier pricing plans.

If you’re interested to get a sneak peak, I’m happy to provide access to the ASE Pro website and offer a discount code should you be interested to purchase. Please hit “Get in touch” at https://bowo.io so I can send you the details.
