Free Header Graphics

    Ok’d this with vkaryl before posting…

    I’ve just launched a brand new site that offers free 800×200 page headers for personal websites and blogs. I currently have 60 graphics in 7 categories.

    I’d really like some feedback on the new site. What do you think of the idea? Is this a good “niche” resource? What about the image size? I’ve already had several people suggest offering wider headers for liquid layouts. Currently all the headers are 800×200. I was thinking about including a section for 1600×200. Is that an ideal size for fluid designs? I’d really like some feedback on what you guys would find helpful for WordPress templates.

    Awesome Darren.. =) Thanks for sharing these with us, but can you please specify if these are “linkware” images or not, though. Just going by your original thread..that’s all. =)

    The graphics are offered as linkware so if you use a header image as part of your site design I just ask that you include a text link giving credit and a link-back to my site.

    I’m not trying to step on the toes per se, just want this out in the open before hand, so no one feels “trapped” into doing something they don’t want to. =/

    Also, I’m not sure if something has changed “rule” wise about this since your previous post either. So either way, clarifying this would be a big help. =D

    If that’s all we need to do, then I’m game! =) If I happen to use one, I’ll be linking to ya for sure.. =D Thanks again Darren! =)

    Hmm..since I’m not the greatest at making up images and such, and I don’t have Photoshop no more, (Got’s Forrest Gimp).. I think I might just use one of those from the Abstract section.. =)

    The only thing is though, it wouldn’t be made “public” viewable per se just yet, as I’m still working on the A08R-2 theme.. Which I will plan to use once done, on the main blog..either way, you’ll get props. =D

    Just had a chance to check the forums. I’ve been at work…

    Yes. All the graphics are linkware. If you use a header image as part of your site design I just ask that you include a text link giving credit and a link-back to my site. That will help me build some traffic.

    Most of them look excellent.
    You might create some headers where the end fits to the beginning to let it fill a whole page without having to load large images!
