Hi there, I just started testing Omnisend for my small webshop, and I’m on the Free plan at the moment. I noticed it says something about a 250 contact limit, does that mean I can’t upload more than that? For example, if I already have around 1300 subscribers from my old newsletter, would I need to upgrade right away, or can I still import them and just use a smaller segment?

    Hi there,

Thanks for your question — it’s a good one, and an important detail to understand about the Free plan.

Yes, you can upload as many contacts as you need to Omnisend. However, the number of contacts you can actually send campaigns to depends on your plan.

On the Free plan, you can send emails to up to 250 contacts. If you upload 1300 contacts, you’ll still be able to keep them all in your account, but only 250 of them can receive your email campaign (the remaining 1050 won’t).

If you have more contacts than your plan allows, you’ll need to create a segment that doesn’t exceed the contact limit. You can then select that segment when sending your campaign.

This way, you can still import your full list now, but you’ll need to work within the sending limits until you decide to upgrade. If there’s anything else you’d like us to clarify while getting started, just let us know — we’re here to help.
