    Greetings!

I have a wordpress site with about 500 products. I need to be able to order them manually. I installed your Free Post Types order plugin, and it works great. I can drag and drop product in any order I wish. The only problem is, the majority of the products on the site are organized by category, and the free plugin just lists all the products together; I can’t organize products within their respective categories.

So, I found the Advanced Post Types Order plugin, and installed that. The interface is exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve set up a manual sort, and just like the free plugin, I can drag and drop products in any order I want. I can even choose a specific product category and reorganize only the products that are in that category.

Here’s the problem — the Advanced Post Types Order plugin doesn’t work! If I reorganize the Products and hit Update, the order of the products is correct in the WordPress backend interface. However, the order of products does not change on the live website.

The free plugin *does* change the order of products on the live website. But the fact that I can’t organize products in their specific category makes it very difficult to use.

Any advice? Why would the free plugin work, and the advanced plugin not work?

What information do you need from me to help you best answer this question?

    Thanks!

I have this exact same issue… Did anyone help you with this? I have contacted support but have not heard back yet…

They did help with this, and the answer is not intuitive.

My problem was that I wanted to manually sort items.

In order to do that, you have to set “Auto Sort” to “Yes” .

After updating that setting, everything worked fine.

Hopefully that helps; if not, ask support as suggested above. They got back to me pretty quickly.
