Freezes Website

Recently updated wordpress to version 5.3, since doing this my website completely froze and pages took up to 10 minutes to load. I tested all my plugins and its Smush that’s causing the website to freeze when activated.

Currently, I have it de-activated but is there a specific cause for this or is this an issue you know of?

The plugin is fantastic and I want to be using it again.
