Hi exnihilodesigns,
Sorry that you ran into issues here!
How are you trying to import the characters? Which specific characters aren’t importing?
If you’re using a CSV file, how are you saving the CSV file? With what program?
Your version of 3.6.9.1 is the latest version available at the moment–I’m not sure I understand you question about not having an option to update. If you have the latest, there’s nothing to update.
Ah, thanks for the reply! It’s the french characters é, è for example. The import skips over any record that has one of these characters in it. For the address, any province field spelled Québec it won’t enter the province in, so there are holes in the records that are uploading.
It’s a CSV and the data looks good when I check it, but out of 191 records it’s only import ing 23 (and always the same 23).
Thanks for your help!
OK, I spoke with my developer and here’s what he said:
French and Spanish share almost the same accented characters. and I always test imports with those characters, I like to use strings such as “àèìòù” for testing and such. I just tested locally and wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.
The problem might still be in the characters but not because the CSV import can’t handle them but because of something else along the process having trouble with those characters. Do you think you can get access and a sample CSV file? We definitely need that to debug this further.
Can you provide a link to that file via Dropbox or something?
