From com to .ORG

    1. Purchase a domain name
    2. Purchase a hosting account
    3. Update name servers for your domain to point to new host
    4. Install WordPress at new domain (see Installing WordPress)
    5. Do Tools->Export at wordpress.COM
    6. Do Tools->Import->WordPress at new host using file from step 5

    If I export and import. Will the .com account stay the same and usable?

    Because right now I’m only testing. I want to export and import the blog when I’m done testing.

    Should. Can’t see why it wouldn’t. Export is a copy, not a delete 🙂

    I see no reason why it shouldnt. They are seperate domains.
