    Hello Events Manager Team,

I’ve encountered a bug with the timezone field in the front-end event editor. Here are the steps to reproduce:

    1. A user creates an event using the front-end submission form.
    2. The form initially displays the site’s default timezone (Timezone A).
    3. The user changes it to a different timezone (Timezone B) and saves the event.
    4. On the front end, the event correctly displays in Timezone B.
    5. In the WordPress admin backend, the event editor also correctly shows Timezone B.
    6. However, when editing the event again via the front-end event editor, the form resets to displaying Timezone A (the site default), regardless of what was saved.

So, while the event itself is saved with the correct timezone and displayed correctly elsewhere, the front-end editor always defaults back to Timezone A in the dropdown, causing confusion for users.

Could you confirm if this is a known issue? And is there a fix or patch planned to ensure the front-end editor reflects the saved timezone correctly?

  • If you go to Events > Setting and in the General tab in General Options section under Event Settings what is the Default Timezone set to?

@joneiseman – it is set to match timezone A (in our case, Los Angeles)

So, all new events default to timezone A. When editing an already created event from the front end form, the form reverts to timezone A, even if another timezone had previously been selected.

I tried to change the timezone fo an event to a timezone different than the default and when I save it, it changes back to the default timezone. I see this behavior in both the frontend and the backend. Rolling back to version 7.1.7 fixes the problem. You can use the WP Rollback plugin to fix the problem. I’ll let @msykes know about the problem.
