    Hi Guys,

I’m SO sorry to bother you. I run a small WordPress/Avada “live party bands for hire” online booking website – we represent live cover bands, and try to get them paid gigs at weddings, events etc. Anyway, when a new live band wants to sign up with us for representation, they currently fill in a lengthy data capture form on our website, adding all their info, like live gig mp4 videos, audio mp3 demos, their home location, music categories and tags of the styles they play, their contact details, their price range for gigs etc.., and submit that form to us, and then we have to manually build them a band page from all that info to add to our site as a post. But it would be better if their band post just got automatically generated and listed as a post when they submit their info (to match the look and layout exactly of our current band page posts), so we don’t have to manually build a page for them. Can your product do this? If so, what’s the general way I need to set it up to copy the look/layout of my current band posts? And, do I need to pay for extra add-ons/plugins etc for it to work, or is the basic free one good enough? The current data collection form we’re using is a ‘Forminator’ plugin form.

    Thanks, Stuart

    Hi @stumur ,

No worries at all – this is exactly the kind of automation OttoKit excels at! You can set up automatic post creation from your Forminator form submissions. This will save you tons of time and give your bands instant visibility on your site. Yes, OttoKit Can Do This! Here’s How:

Step 1: Set Up the Automation

    1. Go to OttoKit Dashboard → Create New Automation
    2. Trigger: “Forminator Form Submission”
      • Select your band registration form
    3. Action: “Create WordPress Post”
      • Set post type to whatever you’re using for band pages
      • Set status to “Published” (or “Draft” if you want to review first)

Step 2: Map Your Form Fields to Post Content

You’ll map each Forminator field to the appropriate post elements:

    • Band Name → Post Title
    • Band Description → Post Content/Excerpt
    • MP4 Videos → Custom fields or embed in content
    • MP3 Audio → Custom fields or media library
    • Location → Custom field or category
    • Music Categories → Post categories/tags
    • Contact Details → Custom fields
    • Price Range → Custom field

    Step 3: Add Featured image

    • Featured Image: Set up automatic featured image assignment if bands upload photos

    Step 4: Advanced Formatting (Optional)

    • Conditional Logic: Show/hide sections based on form responses
    • Category Assignment: Automatically assign bands to appropriate categories

    Pricing & Plan Requirements:

This automation should work with OttoKit’s free plan! The basic features you need (form triggers + post creation) are included. You may need a higher tier if you want:

    • Conditional logic
    • More than one action in your workflow.
    • Core apps like filter, Delay etc.

    What You’ll Need:

    • Your existing Forminator form (✓ you have this)
    • OttoKit account
    • About 30 minutes to set up the field mapping

    Next Steps:

    1. Sign up for OttoKit if you haven’t already
    2. Connect your WordPress site
    3. Mapping the form response to create the posts

This will be a game-changer for your band booking business!

Omg. Thank you SO MUCH David for such a detailed, accurate reply. You make it sound so easy!, but if I’m being honest, my skill level is exceedingly low – it would take me months to figure this out. Could I ask if you might be available to hire to make an example for me that would do it? I know you’ll be so fast and probably take just a few hours to make it function properly and beautifully. I’m very sorry to ask, but might this be something I could hire you to do for me?

    In Anticipation, Thank You!
    Stu
