    I love this plugin but can not use it for a few reasons. Just curious if there are plans to change these things in the future or if someone knows a work around.

    1) I am having trouble with the featured image. the problem is that when a user goes to add media and upload a picture it is not intuitive. the natural thing to do once an image is uploaded is to “insert into post”, however, I’ve found that if you do not select a featured image the very first time you go to upload your post, subsequent attempts to add or assign a featured image later fail. I have tried this with multiple themes and have had the same problem so I don’t think the theme is the issue. Ideally the option to add a featured image would be totally separate from the “add media” option or at least by default select the first picture the user uploads. Perhaps asking for the featured image right before the submit button so the user does not forget to do it would be better?

    2)selecting multiple categories is also not user intuitive. For those that are computer savvy and know how to use the cntrl button to multi select this is not a problem. however, my site is aimed at anybody and everybody. check boxes would be much better here.

    Both of these issues will confuse my visitors and not only discourage them from posting content, but drive them from my site.

    I am willing to donate to this plugin or buy a pro version etc. if it can do these things. It may seem silly, but I can’t use the plugin if it isn’t super simple for the end user, and for someone completely computer illiterate this is not as simple as you might think. I am not a developer so this isn’t something I can change on my own unless I can just copy/paste code etc. and someone tells me how to do it.

    my site is not up and running yet, and I don’t really want to post a link to it here. I don’t mind doing it privately if someone thinks they can help me.

    Hi,

    I will look at this during the weekend, and get bsck to you

    For the featured image, Frontier Post should at the first image in the post as featured image (if no featured image is set) – I realize this does not work, and most like it has never worked.
    Reason why I havent noticed is that the theme i use (Suffusion) show the first image automatically if no featured image has been set.

    What I would like to do:

    1. Fix it so Frontier Post can automatically can set the Featured Image to the first image in the post (if no featured image has ben set already) – This will be based on an option so you can choose to use it
    2. Make it possible to select a default Featured image, for posts with no image – also with an option to enable it.

    As for the checkbox of categories, I will have a look at it

    You could make changes and design you own form using the template functionality of Frontier Post, but it requires some coding experience

    Last but not least, I do this for fun – so if it turns out that I will be able to help you, you can choose to donate to a good cause of your own choice instead 🙂

    Checkboxes for Categoris has been added to version 2.6.0

    Featured image:

    I am releasing a new plugin Frontier Set Featured to address some of your issues – It is awaiting WordPress apoval, should take a day or two

    Reason for releasing this as a separate plugin is that it will work regardless of plugins, themes, admin interface or front end. I also realizes the amount of options in Frontier Post kerps growing, and make the plugin more complext to adopt.

    I did not mange to show the featured image right after the user has selected a featured image, it still requires a save – this on my to-do list

    I have now released Frontier Set Featured

    That will set featured image automatically when you save a post
