frontpage image horror

I created a website for a photo blog. But the frontpage keeps deforming my photo’s. I have tried everything. Set thumbnail to full. Scale the embedded picture in my editing software tot 460×307(that’s half the with of the site) set image to 100%

The first blog post shows: the embedded cropped image, an uploaded image and the setting in the theme

Please help!
