    Hi there.

I am trying to build a website using FSE.
That seems stupid, but I can not understand the differences between Row and Columns blocks in that context.
In my mind, and with different themes, Columns blocks are part of a Row Block.
But in the Twenty Twenty Four theme default header, there are row blocks, but no columns blocks…

    Thanks for any help.

    • Row is mainly for placing blocks next to each other in a flexible horizontal layout
    • Columns is for creating fixed column-based sections

So they can look similar, but they are not exactly the same tool.

In many FSE templates, Row is used in headers because it is simpler for aligning items like the site title, navigation, and buttons in one horizontal line. Columns is more often used when you want a more explicitly column-structured section.

So seeing Row blocks in the Twenty Twenty-Four header without Columns blocks is normal.
