ftp details error

Hi,

I have successfully installed wordpress on my linux VPS and am at the stage where I want to add plugins.

On the connection information page I am asked for:

hostname: http://ftp.essexbabycakes.com
ftp username: admin
ftp password: ********

I keep getting the error “Username/Password incorrect for admin” but I have tried the exact same credentials in filezilla and they work fine.

I am using the wrong format? Does wordpress change the details in any way? do I need to add a domain name to the username? do I require a ftp://????

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
