    Hi,

I am trying to get my updraft backups to upload to my home Ubuntu Server using FTP.
I have entered the IP, the login and password in the UpdraftPlus FTP settings, but it says it timed out.
I have properly allowed the ports through the firewall on the server and router.
I attempted to ftp into it using the terminal on my personal Linux machine with the same details and it works perfectly.
Do I need to specify ftp before the IP in the settings?
    What should I do?

    Thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

I’ve previously seen this, but nothing stated here works.

My question is, for a Ubuntu FTP Server, what is the required link, ex. http://Ftp.example.com
What is required when I only have an IP.

The FTP server field needs to be in the format of http://ftp.example.com, it will not accept an IP address

So there is no way of using my server for my backups?

    Hi,

By default the backup goes to your local server if no other remote storage is selected and/or if you leave the option to “Delete local backups” option checked in Settings>>Show expert settings
