Fucntions erro

Hi, I inserted some code into functions.php to get breadcrumbs working as per Yoarst instructions and I get this error ..

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/moore4mu/public_html/lutwychemedicalcentre.com.au/wp-content/themes/sparkling/functions.php on line 284

Any clues? I’ve removed the new code and replaced the functions.php.
