Full Width Mega Menu Causes Layout Shift and Performance Issues
-
Hi, I’ve encountered several critical issues with the Mega Menu in ElementsKit Lite, and I’ve tested across multiple setups to confirm it’s not due to theme or cache conflicts. 1. Full Width Mega Menu Layout Shift
When the mega menu is set to “Full Width” with position “Default”, it causes a layout shift on page load. The menu appears momentarily shifted to the right before correcting itself. During that split second, a horizontal scrollbar appears, causing a visible “trembling” effect across the page. This also negatively impacts PageSpeed Insights scores due to layout instability. 2. Enable Ajax Load Workaround = Slower UX
Enabling “Ajax Load” seems to help with the shift issue, but it slows down loading noticeably. Worse, when caching plugins are active, the hover loader (spinner) no longer appears — leading users to think the menu is broken or unresponsive. 3. Elementor Crash & Resource Usage
Even though the plugin appears lightweight, it causes Elementor to freeze or enter infinite loading (especially with mega menus + animations). This happens consistently and affects productivity. 4. Lottie Animations Not Showing in Footer
Lottie files added in the global footer don’t render on all pages. I’m forced to insert an empty Lottie widget in the body of each page to force the animation to load site-wide — which isn’t scalable.
Let me know if you need environment details, debug info, or staging access.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
