Functional But Buggy
-
This plugin is close to being great, but I’m on the fence about whether or not I will keep using it because it is very buggy.
The bugs:
1. If you have non-admin users, they will not be able to access the posts in the WP dashboard after you activate this plugin unless you make them admins. Luckily, I trust my current writers and can make them admins but will have to drop the plugin if I continue to add more writers.
2. If you change from a “modal” popup to an “exit” popup and then want to change back to a modal, good luck because it just stays an exit popup forever. Sometimes deactivating the plugin, clearing all caches, and then reactivating will let you get it back to a modal. But talk about a time consuming process!
3. Say you want to make changes to your popup content and need to test a few changes. Well, good luck. After the first save, if you edit your content and then hit “save changes” again, the next thing that will happen will be you looking at an “about:blank” page. When you hit “back” to get back to the editor, none of your changes will be saved. The only way to get them to save is to copy your content into your clipboard, leave the settings page, return to it, paste you content back into the editor, and then hit “save changes.” You will also have to manually clear your cache each time you make a changes because the plugin does not know how to do that.
I’m hoping the author will roll out an update to address these issues, as I did pay for the premium version.
