• Hello,

I noticed the announcement regarding the Google reCAPTCHA changes:
    https://contactform7.com/2025/02/10/our-future-plans-for-captchas/

We are managing more than 100 WordPress websites. Because of this we will definitely be switching to Cloudflare Turnstile. However if I understand correcly from the announcement this would mean as soon as version 6.1 is released we will need to change the captcha on all of our websites at once.

Wouldn’t it be possible to create some sort of transition period?

What will happen if you are still using the old Google Recaptcha while on version 6.1? Will spam not be blocked anymore or will the contact form stop working?

Is there a more exact ETA of 6.1? The announcement mentiones the first half of this year, which could mean it could release tomorrow or at the end of June.

    Many thanks.

  • I would be interested in the answer to this as well. Particularly regarding the transistion period once a site has updated to CF7 6.1 if the site is still using old reCAPTCHA keys. Also, the approximate ETA of 6.1 as I will have to plan accordingly to address the change in existing sites. Thanks so much!
