Fuzzy Images

    When adding images to my announcements they all appear “fuzzy.” I’ve used the recommended 650px width, however it crops my images and I don’t want that.

    The images appear to show as 200px wide, so I’ve tried that size, as well as 400px, 600px and even 900px. All appear fuzzy, even the larger ones.

    Using 72dpi, but tried 150dpi and 300dpi with same results.

    Hi @heatherandthedogs,

    Do you have a link to your site for an example? It sounds like the custom timeline express thumbnail is being used, and stretching to 100% of the container, which would require a small CSS tweak.

    With a link we can take a look and provide a more thorough answer with a possible solution.

    Have you tried setting the images to use full sizes?

    You may want to try adding the following to your themes functions.php file:

    
function change_timeline_express_announcement_image_size( $image_size, $post_id ) {
    $image_size = 'full';
    return $image_size;
}
add_filter( 'timeline-express-announcement-img-size' , 'change_timeline_express_announcement_image_size', 10, 2 );

    It will tell the timeline to use the full image size that you specified. You can read more about it here https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/documentation/how-do-i-use-a-larger-announcement-thumbnail-size/

    Let us know if that helps fix the fuzzy image problem.

    Hi @heatherandthedogs,

    Before adding that snippet to your themes functions.php file, you might want to try simply altering the CSS if you don’t want the images to be full width. Take a look at the following thread that answers a similar question:

    There is a bit of CSS code towards the bottom of the thread that will remove the 100% width on the images and center them in the containers.
