    Hi,

To be able to start tracking with GA4, all I need to do is to go to Tracking Code in settings and in Tracking Type choose Google Analytics 4, correct? It looks like it started tracking after that when I check Analytics. Though I am not sure this is all it takes.

Do you know if it is possible to migrate historical data from UA (Google Analytics 3) to GA4?

Hi, I just checked now this morning and it only shows sessions from 00.00 until 03.00 and then abruptly stops tracking. I suspect it’s not really supposed to be this way. What is otherwise the point of using GA4? It still racks live stats just fine. I see 302 users right now in last 30 min.

How you described it is exactly how it suppose to work. Realtime should be realtime and the rest of reports take up to 12 hours to process, so during that time the data is inconsistent until it finishes processing.

It isn’t about how it suppose to be, it’s simply like that.

Ahh, ok ok. When I check “yesterday” now I finally see 26k page views, so that seems correct. Very good.

It’s confusing since GA3 was so different. I really preferred GA3. It’s not optimal having to wait until the next day to see the real stats and I also like that real time with GA3 displayed actual real time and not last 30 min.

But none of these issues are your fault. Thank you for helping and being patient.

    Hi again,

I am pretty convinced the plugin is not working properly for me. I have been working with a developer to fetch GA4 data to display a list of the most popular posts and I asked him specifically why the plugin is now displaying correct data and if this is something wrong with my GA4 setup.

He has full access to my GA4 account and he responded that:

“From what I can see the GA4 setup is correct, I think it’s the Analytics Insights plugin that’s not reporting properly. I can see that the plugin is showing circa 5000 page views for yesterday, but the GA dashboard is reporting 25,000+, like you’re expecting.”

Yesteday when I checked, it seemed to display yesterdays data correctly with around 30k page views (which is expected). But today it does not seem to display correct data again. When I check yesterdays stats today it shows 5k page views which is way off.

Any idea what could be going on?

EDIT: He just added this as well..

“Interestingly, re; the Analytics Insights plugin, it looks like it does report the correct data for the last 7 days (12th-18th May), it just has an issue with showing yesteday’s numbers on their own”

Just wanted to add to the above post I did earlier today, that “Yesterday” stats has now updated in your plugin. I believe there is a delay in your plugin compared to GA4?
