• When I change or create a Gallery block on the WP app, the admin page in the browser says it’s broken and I should attempt recovery. Then if I do that and update it there, it says the same thing on the WP app. Then if I recover it there, it says it again in the browser. It’s an endless circle-jerk of block recovery. It works fine either way on the actual finished product.

And sometimes, there are extra broken images. There are only two images in the gallery in the following screenshot, but four are there with two broken ones.

    And sometimes, this happens.

Side note: I can’t get the image block on this thing to work with Google Photos URLs. I had to make them links. Probably because their URLs don’t go to the actual image. /shrug

Edit: The Gallery block seems to always be broken when using the app.

    Hi engingell!

There have been previous reports of very similar issue investigated in Github you can see here: https://github.com/wordpress-mobile/WordPress-Android/issues/17712 . Checking out the post impacted on your site, I do see the images have captions, which matches the initial report in the Github issue I linked above.

In the thread on that Github issue they found that installing the Gutenberg plugin on the site can help resolve the issue, depending on which version of WordPress you are using. They are also looking into a solution that does not involve installing an additional plugin to your site.

Is it just called “Gutenberg”? I see several similar plugins when I search for that.

Edit: Yes…to answer my question. And it seems to have fixed it. At first I didn’t think it did, but I removed the captions, updated it, then re-added the captions, and all is well…for now.
