Gallery feature: horizontal scroll

Hey,

thanks for the awesome plugin. While I like the image slider and carousels, sometimes you just want to go quickly through a collection of images. I wondered if you would consider making a gallery with horizontal scrollbar? There seem to be very few options without going for dedicated gallery plugins, and they are not always optimized for Gutenberg.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I don’t have any specific example as of yet, but I guess it didn’t have to be specifically gallery.

I guess what I was thinking of was a kind of ‘section block’ that lets you scroll horizontally, so the content can be presented side by side horizontally as opposed to being stacked on top of each other vertically.

I guess that might be too complicated, but maybe if the Getwid Base theme had a horizontal page template, so you could choose for each page? Would be fantastic for artists and visual designers.

Sorry, this may have turned out to be more complicated than I originally thought.

Thanks for your explanation. we will keep this in mind however it would be really useful to take a look at some examples to test responsiveness and get whole idea of the request. Thanks.

https://www.temporary-url.com/2C8C9B – under the ‘gallery’ tab is a vertical gallery. It would have been nice to be able to organize images – or blocks – horizontally rather than vertically. The image slider/carousel blocks are sufficient for simple horizontal gallery, but free scrolling back and forth in the same way that this page scrolls vertically would be great.

For some reason, most of the horizontal scroll themes I don’t seem to be supported anymore, so I couldn’t find a lot of examples:
