I’m using the free Pinnacle theme and want create a grid gallery blog post, that is a blog post that links to a grid gallery like the one in the pinnacle demo http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/.

In an ordinary blog post I can choose gallery but I can’t find a grid option, only different kinds of carousels.

Or I can create a portfolio but how to make this one appear as a post on my homepage.

    Sincerely
    Linus

    Hi Linus,
Assuming you have already set featured images for your posts, you can enable “latest blog posts” in the homepage layout manager from Theme Options > Home Layout. Does that work for you?

No, it doesn’t seem so. I enabled latest blog post and have featured images. I’ve made a portfolio but it doesn´t appear as a post on my homepage as I would like to. I have two standard post that appear as the should but I would like my portfolio there as a post too. Alternately turn a standard post to a grid gallery post but that option does not seem to be there.

    Hey Ilinus,

The portfolio and blog are two totally separate entities, so there is no way to make portfolio posts show up in the home blog.

One thing you could do is create another blog using categories and label at your portfolio. You could use the portfolio category as a parent category, and further organize them into categories that crossover with your other parent blog category, making the “portfolio” posts show up in your home blog.

    Does that help?

That can probably help Kevin. In the theme demo though they seem to have managed in a simple way. If you click the Gallery grid image, but maybe this is not a portfolio. Can it be an ordinary post with a Gallery grid? But How?

That post is a blog post. You can create the gallery in the wordpress editor by hitting the “Add Media” button and finding “Create Gallery.” There are a bunch of options within there to change how the gallery appears.

Let me know if that works for you!

Yes Kevin! That works works fine. Exactly the way I want it. Thank you!
