Hey Pablo,
Thanks for using Ignite!
When you’re creating or editing a gallery, there is a section on the right-side called “Gallery Settings” with a “Link To” option. You can use that option choose to link each image to its attachment page, the image file, or to not link at all.
Ignite will respect the option you choose there. If that’s not the case, please link me to your site, so I can take a closer look.

Hi Ben!
Thanks for your answer. I’ve added a gallery to the end of this post (before the last paragraph).
You can click on pictures and see the behavior. If I change to another theme (Journalist, for example) it open the gallery.
Pablo.
Pablo,
Have you tried setting the gallery’s “Link To” option to “Attachment Page” and updating/saving it?

Pablo,
I checked out your site and the images are now linking to the attachment pages instead of the files. I thought that was your request, sorry if I misunderstood.
Ignite doesn’t modify the gallery functionality in anyway. The way the gallery links in Ignite is the same as the default WordPress themes. If another theme is functioning differently, it is likely they have modified how the gallery works in their theme.

Ok, you are right. I think the feature that does not work is “Carousel” provided by JetPack.
Thanks for your help understanding this.
Pablo.
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks for letting me know about that. I’ll see if there’s something we can do to make that integration work in a future release.
