garbage in Admin area when editing posts

    When I’m navigating around the Admin dashboard, everything works well except when I select a post to edit or choose to create a new post. The screen of my iPad shows a white sheet with text running down the left where the GUI display of Dashboard items belong. The text appears to mirror Dashboard items. With a bit of swiping around, the post edit area appears, but often disappears while editing.

    Restoring from a recent backup did not help. I had not added new plugins in the past few days, and this behavior only began a couple hours ago.

    Unfortunately, there is no option here to include a screen grab that would perfectly illustrate the problem.

    I’d be really grateful for any advice.

    Sounds like you are not into the new Gutenberg Editor aka Block editor… which actually is almost two years old! If you install Classic Editor https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/classic-editor/ you will get the screen you are used to back.

    Thanks for responding.

    First, I have narrowed down the problem to the Wordfence plugin. I’ve opened a ticket in their subforum.

    Second, yeah, I’m a bit behind the times WRT Gutenberg. I really need to bite the bullet and start using it. I already have Classic Editor installed.

    Glad you were able to do some debugging and figure out what was causing the issue. I’ve not personally experienced this issue on any of the sites I manage and most of them are using WordFence. Glad to help any time I’m able! That’s what the forums are here for. Happy blogging!
