• Hope some people can offer advice, whether this members2 plugin will be suitable for my needs and point me in the right direction for developers to help implement it – my original web designer has folded so it seems.

Want 3 different types of members:

    1. member1, 2. member2. 3.Admin

    (1) member1 join, using either their Facebook details or online form
They can create advertising posts, and invite people from member2.

local people from members2 get notified (email and/or to their account), and messaging between tradesmen and member can commence on that job post (not in public view)

Member1 can shortlist people, and then message them. After choosing which person from member2 to use, they can offer them a job. And leave feedback after.

(2)member2 can , fill out their details, but admin must approve profile before going live.

want to be able to charge a small per lead fee, be able in the future to charge a small monthly fee for tradesmen that want to be featured (placed at the top of a normal search list.

(3)Admin manage just the details of accounts, and posts, but not the website.

Hello @alexbrocky, hope you’re doing well!

Membership 2 plugin is protecting your site’s content behind a membership login, either it is a free or paid membership.

    (1) member1 join, using either their Facebook details or online form

For Facebook login you can try most commonly used social login plugins:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/oa-social-login/
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/miniorange-login-openid/
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/accesspress-social-login-lite/

With help of Member Capabilities add-on, it is possible to provide additional user role capabilities to members of a specific membership.

Though it is not possible for members adding other members. Members can sign up by themselves or manually by a site’s administrator. Though with the Invitation Codes add-on other members can send invitation codes to join membership to users. Please note the Invitation Codes add-on is available in Pro version only.

local people from members2 get notified (email and/or to their account), and messaging between tradesmen and member can commence on that job post (not in public view)

Messaging between the members is not available in Membership 2 plugin out of the box. You may try Front End PM instead for private messaging or a Chat plugin.

(2)member2 can , fill out their details, but admin must approve profile before going live.

This feature is not available out of the box. To approve new users try the New User Approve plugin

(3)Admin manage just the details of accounts, and posts, but not the website.

In this case, I’m afraid only the site’s admin have access to Memberships 2 options out of the box.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

    Cheers,
    Nastia
