• Hello folks,
I am not sure if this is a problem being caused by my install of WordPress or the theme I am running. When I click save changes on the Settings / General Settings page, the result is a 404 Page Not Found error (and obviously, the settings entered are not saved).

What could cause this, and what would the fix be?

are you using permalinks? Yes? Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

I am using permalinks, but your fix didn’t work. Instead it turned the error into a 403 error:

    Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/options.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Looks like a server configuration issue. Have you contacted your host?
