I don’t know where else to post it to inform the owners but the documentation and in particular the tutorial on how to create Google Maps API keys to have GEOmyWP working (and WPJM as well) needs some refresh as Google probably changed something in the way you can create Maps API keys. It seems there is no more distinction between Browser and Server API keys as Google releases only one key and everything changed in the way you can enable services.

By the way I have an issue with Maps on https://serviziovolontarioeuropeo.it not showing any job even though WPJM seem to load them well and I can’t find any error in javascript console. I have opened a ticket on WPJM support for days ago but they’re probably still on holiday (lucky them!)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’m pretty sure GeoMyWP has an addon specifically for WP Job Manager, a paid addon, I would recommend contacting them for support with that.

Regarding Google Maps API keys, you should always use separate keys for “server” and “client” API calls, restricting client/browser API keys via referrers, and server keys via IP address:

Also on your page i see a jQuery error about chosen from the WP Job Manager – Locations addon, I recommend making sure you’re using the latest, as Chosen.JS is no longer used by WP Job Manager (Select2 is used now)

    Hello @francojoint,

I am the developer of both the GEO my WP plugin and the WP Job Manager Geolocation add-on.

I am going to look into the Google Maps API keys tutorial and see if I need to update it, but as @tripflex mentioned above, you still need to create 2 Google Maps API keys; a “server” and a “browser/client” API keys. The difference between the keys is in how you restrict them.

If you still need assistance with the plugin and haven’t contacted me yet, please do so using the support form on this page.

    Thanks.

Many thanks @tripflex @ninjew. For some reasons I thought these two keys were like public and private keys of the same instance. I have now fixed this. I still have some issues so I will post a support request.
