"GET none" 404 error

    Was checking the Network traffic logs using Firefox’s Developer Mode f
    for a site I have created using the Evolve theme and I am basically receiving a “GET none | 404 Not Found” error when viewing the log .

    The log points to “/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=evolve_dynamic_css&ver=4.4.2” as the referrer and I’ve narrowed down the error and found that it was linked to line 96 of “library/functions/functions.php”.

    Commenting out this line removes the error from the site but the code is linked to the Dynamic CSS and thus removing the code removes the styles from the custom cSS section.

    Is there any chance you could take a look into this and fix the error?

    Hi,

    That code at line 96 – 97 of ../library/functions/functions.php
    is the code to enqueue the dynamic css file of the theme.

    // Custom CSS for Live website
            wp_enqueue_style('dynamic-css', esc_url(admin_url('admin-ajax.php') . '?action=evolve_dynamic_css'));

    You cannot comment this out.

    You are probably having this error because you have either a plugin or server setting that does not allow running this file. Maybe because of the admin-ajax.php… within the css file link.

    Anyway, you should check with your host why this file is not found or not allowed to load.

    Many thanks for your reply.

    You were right. I contacted my host and it appears that they have the website behind a reverse proxy which blocks attempts by the file to call out and receive a reply.
