• Hi I got to the install page of wordpress but when I entered my blog name and my email address, I keep getting this error:

Warning: getmypid() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/mqphan/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/class-phpass.php on line 52

Afterwords when I go to mysite/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php again it tells me that wordpress is already install (something is keeping me from going on to this step:

Reinstalling wordpress doesn’t make the problem go away. I also tried looking in that file but the file doesn’t even have 52 lines. If anyone knows what to do please help. Thank you so much!

  • the first issue is a hosting thing — your host has disabled that particular php function, for security reasons, just like the message tells you.

i don’t know whether thats causing the 2nd problem or not .. but maybe so.

find out if your host allows you to run your own php.ini, if so, do it, and make that function available and see if it fixes the problem.

    thats what i would do.
