I installed Adminimize today. Some of it works great, but I’m getting 404 errors after submitting changes for certain post types. It also seems that even though the update might have hidden the right items, when I load the Adminimize tool, the checkboxes don’t reflect the current state for these post types.

I also consistently see this: You must open the front end of the site in this browser in order for the plugin to discover the Admin Bar items that are currently not visible. under the Front End Options settings, even though I thought I did that.

What is meant by “the front end of the site?”

The front end is the view of the webiste, the content of the site and not the back end, the administration area.
Define front end, maybe helpful more as my small hint: http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/i-dont-speak-your-language-frontend-vs-backend
