Getting 404 on Hostgator

    Hi,

    I am trying to use this plugin to secure my admin console access to wordpress.

    hosting info:
    1. Hostgator India
    2. Hatchling Plan
    3. No Private SSL – Going to use the Shared SSL
    4. One high level domain, WP installed in root directory

    I went through the installation guide and updated the SSL Host with the secure URL for my ID, in the format:

    servername.host.net/~usename

    I did not force SSL or any other check box, saved the setting and logged out.

    When I try to login using the secure link for wp-admin, it throws me a 404 error. This is a complete new install, I haven’t got any single post or anything. Please help since I really need to secure the WP admin before I can start any development.
