Getting started

Hi. Very sorry but I am only starting and do not have much knowledge of WP and Cool Video Gallery but will learn fast! Please help though! I have installed WP through my own website host and have installed a theme for uploading videos where I want people to be able to comment directly under them. This theme is called TETRIS and I have also installed the Cool Video Gallery plugin. But I can’t get them to work together. I want to upload videos from my local hard drive (I’m on a Mac). When I try, no thumbnail of video frame appears, just a square of code. Any help and advice gratefully received. Sorry for being so dumb.
