Hey J,
If your Page IDs are good then I would guess there might be something on your server blocking the site from connecting to the Facebook API. If you’ve tested across multiple servers then are they with the same hosting company?
– Could you tell me the Facebook page ID(s) that you’re using so that I can double check them?
– Could you also tell me the System Info on a couple of the sites? You can find this by going to Custom Facebook Feed Settings > Support.
– Could you also click on the ‘Test connection to Facebook API’ button on a couple of the sites and tell me whether you receive an error or blank box?
Cheers!
John
Thanks, John, The ‘Test connection to Facebook API’ solved it for me. Original developer had the app under his personal Facebook account which he has deleted. Thanks again for the help!
No problem, glad to hear you got it figured out. If you have any other issues in future then don’t hesitate to let me know.
John
Hi,
Having the same problem, but only at random times (sometimes the feed displays perfectly, sometimes I get the “invalid argument supplied” error as above. The API connection test results are fine, the rest of the settings are correct:
PHP Version: 5.2.17
Web Server Info: Apache
PHP allow_url_fopen: Yes
PHP cURL: Yes
JSON: Yes
As I said before, the feed displays correctly 4 out of 5 times, just returns error at random times for no discernible reason…
Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Hey there Miguel,
It sounds like it could be a temporary issue with your site connecting to the Facebook API. Could you tell me what you have the plugin’s ‘Check Facebook for new posts every’ setting set to on the Settings page?
John
Thanks Miguel. I haven’t been able to replicate the problem but I’ll see if I can add a fallback method in the next update in case the plugin isn’t able to connect to Facebook’s API for some reason.
