.git File in Pubsubhubbub PHP Directory Causing Problem
-
Automatic restore points created by my hosting company for my WordPress site recently stopped working, after installing the Pubsubhubbub plugin.
Here is the reason give by the folks at WP Engine (my hosting co.) for this issue:
I found a .git file located in the wp-content/plugins/pubsubhubbub/pubsubhubbub-php/ directory. This file is the reason that the restore points are not working properly for you. I recommend that you contact the author of this plugin so that they can remove this file from their plugin, as it should not be there. Once the file has been removed, the restore points should work normally again.
Can the .git file just be deleted? Will the plugin work OK without it? Or could you suggest any other solution short of removing the plugin?
