    That plugin adds a Share» text string at the beginning of your content. Since it’s part of your content, WPSSO picks it up as part of your text.

    Since that text is not within a paragraph tag, try checking the “Content Begins at First Paragraph” option. That will probably work. Alternatively, you could make sure all your posts and pages have excerpts, but if that’s not already part of your publishing process, the first solution might be best. 😉

    Thanks for the speedy reply. I found the option, but it looks like it’s disabled for the basic version of the plugin, which is what I have for this site.

    Indeed. The alternative might be to code a custom filter (http://surniaulula.com/codex/plugins/wpsso/notes/developer/filters/). I could easily write one for you, but that would probably end up about the same price as the Pro version. 😉
