I have been using your plugin successfully for over a year with Outlook 365. Today, I went to set up a fallback connection for the occasional failed send, and I couldn’t get the plugin to send via Gmail. I get an authentication error every time.

    I am following Google’s documentation: https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600

    I use:

    Connection Provider: Other SMTP

    SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com

    Port: 587 (for TLS)

    Encryption: TLS

    Use Auto TLS: On

    Authentication: On

SMTP Username & PW: My Gmail uname & pword

    Hello @nitrospectide,

To Connect Gmail using other SMTP method use the guide below:

Turn on 2-factor authentication for your Google Account: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185839?hl=en Visit My Account: https://myaccount.google.com/

Now we need to create An App password from here: https://myaccount.google.com/u/3/apppasswords You may be asked to re-enter your Gmail password and then Create an app password with the type Other.

Now we can configure the Fluent SMTP, here you need to use Hostname: smtp.gmail.com, Security method as TLS, 587 as Port Email address as Sender and SMTP Username, and App password as SMTP password.

Please let me know the update.

    Thank you.

I set up 2FA, and then the App password, but then for some strange reason, fluentSMTP would not let me save the new info. It kept giving me an error. After a bit, it suddenly worked. Maybe the app password needed a few minutes to be fully active.

Thank you so much for the help!
