hello, I am very new to this, I am finding my way around slowly however I have reached a certain level of frustration hence my post for specific feedback, thanks in advance, Derek.

I have created my DB, Go Daddy says its status is ‘setup’
I have edited and renamed my wp-config.php file with the following –

    // ** MySQL settings ** //
define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘derekawwordpress’); // The name of the database
define(‘DB_USER’, ‘derekawwordpress’); // Your MySQL username
    define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘**********’); // …and password
    define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘mysql113.secureserver.net’); // 99% cha…

however I get the following error when going to URL – http://derekaw.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php

Warning: main(/home/content/d/e/r/derekaw/html/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/d/e/r/derekaw/html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 73

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘/home/content/d/e/r/derekaw/html/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/content/d/e/r/derekaw/html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 73

I feel the solution is simple but Im yet to work it out.

    All direction greatly appreciated

  • When you unzipped the download, did you have a folder called ‘wordpress’ and inside that 3 other folders and some files?
Or inside ‘wordpres’ did you just have dozens of files and no folders?

If that is the case, you need to unzip the folder again and use a setting that keeps the structure intact.

Otherwise check that all the files really did upload.

Hey, thanks for the reply, sorry about the looong delay, I changed ISP so had no net for a while…

The unzip all looks ok, lots-o-files and sub folders with lots-o-files. Maybe I should download and uplod to the server again?

    I will try it.

    Any other ideas?

    It works!
I must have had some files missing.

    Thanks, Derek.
