• Works, but there is a few issues with GoDaddy. It doesn’t change the URL to https. You have to change it in the database to https, then it will work. And if you were to deactivate it, it would almost lock you out, but I managed to fix it. It should be a WordPress mu-plugin so someone can’t deactivate it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve tested several sites after your post, on all tested sites the site_url and home url are changed to https, as they should. I can’t reproduce your issue. This might be a specific configuration on your site which blocks the change.

If you have a site where changing the site_url by a plugin is blocked, you can always change it in settings/general. It should not be necessary to change it in the database. Unless that is blocked too of course 😉

In my experience it works fine with GoDaddy, unless they changed something in their server configurations recently.

If you deactivate the plugin, the site reverts to http. You should then be able to login over http, but you probably need to clear your browser cache because the cache will keep forcing the site to https.

Hope this clarifies some things! If you have any questions about this, let me know.
