• It seems to work well so far. Just a note that I’m using the Wordfence Falcon Engine cache and they seem to be compatible together. Buttons update immediately when clicked. Too bad about not being able to use special characters, but no big deal 😉 Am also excited to see that there are stats pages other than the widget, as there was no mention of this in the description.

*I’ve updated my rating from 4 to 5 because I love that Reaction Buttons allows you to disable the plugin’s CSS and use your own (which can help reduce queries and increase load time). This is an option all plugins should offer!!!

    Great that you like it.

The special chars thing is due to the “simple” fact, it doesn’t use it’s own database table etc…

But are you sure it works with your caching plugin? Usually it isn’t a problem while clicking, but while reloading. If you increase a button from 9 to 10, it usually shows instantly, but if you reload your page, it still shows 9, because it shows the prerendered cached version.

Thanks for the tip! I tried it out and it works on page reload, too 🙂

And if you try the current beta, you’ll be able to use special chars as well. You can download version 2.0.0 here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/reaction-buttons/developers/

Copy and paste from the upgrade notice for 2.0.0 you won’t be seeing installing this way:

If you use your own CSS, you’ll need to update it! This upgrade changes how the reaction data is saved and will convert automatically. But saving your wordpress database just in case is a good idea, especially if you might want to ose an old version.

Thanks, Jakob!!! I’ll check it out this week and let you know how it goes 🙂

Hi Jakob, I tested out version 2.0.0 and everything works well, even with special characters. Thanks very much for that!
