Hi @bwilli33,
Hope you are keeping well.
Please create an API credential for your site which will be exclusively used only for your site. As you can see here, there are limitations set by Google for the maximum number of requests a single API project can make in an hour/day. If its own credentials are created for each site, we can guarantee that you will not hit the request limits.
Best Regards,
Nebu John
API credential? do you mean a google service account? Thanks for the response.
Hi @bwilli33
I hope you are doing good today.
Here you will find a full guide for API Project
https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/beehive/#set-up-api-project
Kind Regards,
Kris
Yes and i have followed that guide and it talks about this
“However, it is important to note that Google does have a hard limit of 50 “refresh tokens” per account. That means that you can connect up to 50 domains using the same account. So if you do have lots of sites, or a multisite with lots of domain-mapped subsites, you might indeed hit that limit, and random sites will start displaying “unknown error occurred” messages. See Refresh token expiration for more information on that limit.”
and i looked at googles information on refresh tokens and it talks about service accounts not having that limitation. https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/oauth2#expiration
“There is currently a limit of 50 refresh tokens per Google Account per OAuth 2.0 client ID. If the limit is reached, creating a new refresh token automatically invalidates the oldest refresh token without warning. This limit does not apply to service accounts.”
so i am trying to figure out how to make that work. theres no instructions anywhere that specifies how to relate this google service account with the API and Beehive Pro.

Hi @bwilli33
I’ve pinged our plugin developer to verify this information for you.
We will keep you posted once hearing back from the plugin team.

Hi @bwilli33
I just noticed in your reply you said Beehive Pro.
Since it is a Pro version, can you please create a thread on our Forum area for Pro members?
https://wpmudev.com/get-support/
On ww.wp.xz.cn we only handle the free versions.
Best Regards

Hi @bwilli33
Our developer confirmed.
I am afraid the service account won’t work on the plugin only the regular account.
Best Regards
Patrick Freitas
ok so no point in posting this at the other location then? Thank you so much for looking into this.

You don’t need to open the thread in case of the reply answer the question, however for further reference or if you need any additional info since you are using the Pro version please open on our Pro members area.
