Yes, EM OSM replaces Google Maps. Very clear. Just remove EM OSM if you still want to use the paid Google Maps API.
Important: DEACTIVATE the EM OSM plugin. Do not simply delete it. Give the add-on the chance to remove its modifications.
have an API key
Google requires you to register 5 API’s. So just 1 will never work.
Thanks, Patrick. Just to be clear: I want to (read: have to) use Google in a completely different context to OSM. Nothing to do with the EM plugin. If I understand your answer correctly, that is not possible?
@duisterdenhaag did you see my question?
Yes, I’ve seen it.
Using two providers for the same thing is usually a bad idea. Just like installing Events Manager and Event Espresso on the same site.
Also, Google is not exactly known for keeping its integration limited to itself.
This add-on is meant for users who do not want to use Google Maps. If you are using it elsewhere on your site, why not in EM as well…
..because I like OSM and your plugin is much nicer to style. But, sadly, not everyone thinks it is worth supporting OSM…
Anyway, thanks!
BTW I have solved. it: I can have my cake and eat it. Using Google for the plugins that don’t support OSM and OSM with Events Manager.
Stephan,
when you have solved this, please share your solution here with the people that search the internet for a solution and visit this forum thread. They might benefit from your “search-work” too.
Tammo
I second Tammo’s reply. Please share your workaround.
Sure.
My problem was with the map in the great plugins from Cozmoslabs, “Profile Builder”. I am creating a user map. The map in the profile page of each user returned an error and would not accept an address. The very helpful guys at Cozmo pointed me in the right direction: I needed to enable these APIs to get it to work and it has done without isse. So, no conflict with OSM EM!
