    Hi!

I have created google mapping for google categories via google shoping template and categories match but in the feed I only return the number of the google category and no name. I get <![CDATA[ 166 ]]> and on facebook it only displays the number 166 and not the category name.

    Hello @tiknius

    Thanks for reaching us.

According to the google feed specification, you can use both the category name and the category id as you can here. So, we have used the ID to keep the feed clean as possible. However, it won’t be creating any issues while uploading your products on GMC.

Hope you are clear. Please, let us know if you have any further queries.

    Best regards,

Hi, thanks for your answer. The thing is I’m not uploading to GMC. Google category is also required/recommended for facebook catalogs. It makes much more sense to have readable words instead of id’s there. How can I use names instead of IDs?

    Hi @tiknius

Currently, the option is not available in our plugin to get the google category name as facebook will not consider the category ID wrong.

    Thank you,

Hi, thanks for your answer. What you do mean by “facebook will not consider the category ID wrong”?

    Hi @tiknius

Currently, we are not offering any option to get the full Google category path. Currently, you will get the google category id on the feed according to the google category taxonomy ID.

    Thank you,

Hi, thanks for your answer 🙂 Understood but still what have you meant with facebook will not consider the category ID wrong. Do you mean I will not get yello (!) warning in my catalog saying my google category is missing?

    Hi @tiknius

No you won’t get any warning for using category ID. However, you should upload and check if it gives any warning.

    Thank you,
