    Good Day!

    A few days after updating to TEC 5.6.0, Google Search Console reported the following error:

    Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Breadcrumbs issues:

    Top Errors

    Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in Search results. The following errors were found on your site:

    Either “name” or “item.name” should be specified

    We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.

    The URL path affected is:

    /events-archive/category/air-show/list/?tribe_event_display=past&tribe_paged=2

    Any idea what’s going on and how to fix this? We don’t use breadcrumbs, so does TEC generate Breadcrumbs in the backend?

    Thank you!

    Hello!

    We don’t normally generate breadcrumbs, but would you mind sending me a link to your site where this is happening just to check your code quickly?

    Thanks!

    @tokyobiyori,

    Thank you. We were trigger happy this morning.

    Please allow us to perform additional tests. We also use Avada (Theme) and Yoast (Plugin) — which provide options to add breadcrumbs. Their latest updates may be creating a conflict with The Events Calendar. Will provide an update within 1-2 business days.

    Cheers!

    Thank you! I’ll be on standby! Just in case, please also remember that plugins like Yoast generate breadcrumbs, as there might be a conflict going on too 😀

    @tokyobiyori,

    Agree!

    Just confirmed the issue is due to Yoast 16.2. It conflicts with TEC/TEC Pro. With Yoast 16.1.1, we have no issues.

    The unusual thing is that we have Breadcrumbs deactivated everywhere, including Yoast. So, Yoast 16.2 (code change) is probably the culprit.

    We haven’t changed anything else in our website. Google Console emailed us the error message within 8-10 days after we installed Yoast 16.2 which was released 7 days ago.

    Testing Details:

    Yoast 16.1.1 and TEC 15.6 / TEC Pro 15.6 Activated: (Clean, No Issues)

    Google Structured Data Testing Tool Results (Collapsed)
    Google Structured Data Testing Tool Results (Expanded)

    Yoast 16.2 and TEC 15.6 / TEC Pro 15.6 Activated: (Breadcrumbs Issue)

    Google Structured Data Testing Tool Results (Collapsed)
    Google Structured Data Testing Tool Results (Expanded)

    To close the loop, I have opened this Yoast Forum topic. Stay tuned.

    Last, and to avoid confusion, closing this TEC issue as “resolved.” (issue transferred to Yoast)

    Cheers!

    Hi @tokyobiyori,

    Closing the loop. Please refer to Yoast SEO GitHub Issue No. 17006 for an update.

    They’re currently working on it.

    Cheers!
