Hi birken,
Typically empty feeds could be caused by the following reasons:
- A filter that removes all products from the feed. One can test this by removing filters one by one and reprocess the feed every time a filter rule has been removed. When the feed contains products again you have found the filter causing the feed to be empty;
- You are only selling variation products and you have not enabled the ‘include variation products’ option when configuring your feed;
- You are on an old version of our plugin: make sure you are on the latest version of the plugin as we did fix some filter and rule issues the last couple of days.
Could any of the above be applicable to you?
All the best
EvaHaving the same issue. My XML file is populated properly. However, fetching my feed for the Google Merchant centre keeps returning 0 products. I’ve ran both of the updates today and refreshed the feed for both versions.
Issue only occurred after the first update today.

So…the content of your feed is fine (and not empty as the author of this issue reported) but Google thinks it is empty?
Yes, if you “download productfeed” from the plugin “manage feeds” page it’s fine and populated with the correct products, but if you download the feed that google fetches it just shows a file populated with the content the author posted.
But the feed that Google fetches should be the same as you download from the ‘manage feeds’ section of our plugin. So….how is this possible? Have you uploaded a wrong/different feed into Google’s Merchant Center?
I also don’t understand what you mean by ‘with the content the author posted’? You are the one who copy/pasted the URL of your product feed into Google’s Merchant Center.

Evathe plugin behaving weird, and just to let you know my question is not about google is about the download xml file from the plugin in my wordpress.
i removed all the filters and checked variations on and using latest update allok.
but still get empty and then i refreshed the xml page the products populated. and now after some more tries i get empty feed again.
the xml file uses all the time same url it seem to cache the previous empty one even after refresh feed.
if the feed could create uniq url every time you make a change on a feed maybe it will fix it.
i dont know 🙁

Hi Birken,
Sounds like you are experiencing a caching issue indeed. Are you running a caching plugin? Maybe you can tweak and tune the settings of the caching plugin?
Changing the feed URL every time one makes a change is not an option as it would not an option for users to keep changing this in, for example, their merchant center.
Do you have any filters in place that could cause the feed to be empty?
Best,
Evaok i think is cache probelm i use w3 but i think i must miss understand this plugin.
are you saying that i am connect live with google merchant? as i am doing lots of changes to filter and attribute to see how xml pouplate?
No you are not connecting directly to the merchant center. You have configured Google’s Merchant Center to retrieve your product feed XML at a certain time and interval. Only at those times and intervals Google is retrieving your feed. There is also an option from within Google’s merchant center to retrieve and re-process the feed manually.
In the product feed (plugin) configuration you can create filters to filter out products from your product feed. When you made a mistake in one of those filter you can easily end up with an empty feed. That’s why I am asking if you have any filters in place and how they look.
When you believe it is a w3 caching issue than I suggest you reach out to the support of w3 asking them how you can exclude the feeds from being cached.
All the best
Evahi Eva, i got his answer from w3 do you know what your files is called so i can stop cache it?
Hello,
If you are using Auto Minify you can exclude certain js files from being minified.
Go to Performance>minify and scroll to “Never minify the following JS files:”. You can add specific plugin files to this field.
Alternatively, you can switch to Manual Minify and only add JS and CSS files that you want to be minified.Hi Birken,
Minified files such as JS and CSS files have nothing to do with the issue at hand.
Can you ask W3 support if they are also caching files within the
/wp-content/uploads/directories? That is the location where our plugin is saving the product feeds. If they do cache that directory than you need to know from them how to exclude it from caching.Best,
EvaI am also now getting blank feeds but my XML is empty
The new amount of products in the feed chart also shows 0 products in the feed.
This happened after the app update yesterday, also the manual refresh of feed button just does not work.
