According to a judgement of the Munich District Court of 20.01.2022, one may be entitled to a claim for damages for reloading fonts from Google. This is mainly due to the fact that data is sent to the USA without the consent of the visitor and technical necessity.

I checked my website via google fonts Checker and got the message, that I have this problem on my site. Is this because of chaplin or is this because of a fault done by myself?

    Hi @ivohuber,

Chaplin does include fonts directly from Google Fonts – it’s the only theme of mine that still does. The reason for this is that there is no convenient way to replace the Google Fonts font selector included in the Customizer settings in Chaplin.

You should be able to circumvent this by installing a plugin like Local Google Fonts. It should detect the Google Fonts stylesheet loaded by Chaplin and allow you to host the fonts included in it locally instead.
