Hi, I noticed that the fonts in the Regular variant always have a connection to the Google server at Kadence. I set a Load Local in the Customizer (and on the pages, or blocks) and I always see that the Regular variant don’t load locally despite the setting. Is this a bug? I have two installations with different typografie (fonts) and both have the problem with the regular fonts and the issue with lokal load. It can´t load local.

  • Hello,

In the Customizer, navigate to General > Performance and flush the local fonts. Could you ensure you enable the options to Load Google Fonts Locally and Preload Local Fonts? Are the options already enabled on your sites? Does the fonts directory appear in your wp-content folder?

Yes, I set everything in the customizer. It is curious that it is only the Regular variant of the font. Only the Regular variant has a connection to Google and cannot be set locally in the Customizer. For me this is a bug.

Is nobody who has a solution for me? As said, 2 pages have the regular fonts version as google link and this also cannot be changed by the customizer setting with Load Local.

I have read on other forums and Facebook that the problem with Google Fonts is most likely due to the Kadence Blocks plugin. Kadence Blocks does not load the Google fonts locally and this cannot be easily turned off. You have to upload the code for the fonts by hand and ftp. Very inconvenient and this is a real bug.

    Hi, Anna!

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The Kadence Blocks typography settings should follow the typography settings of the theme by default.

If you use the Kadence theme and you are loading Google fonts locally, the Google font you select for the blocks will be loaded locally by turning on the “Load Google Font on Frontend” option.

Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/geuEAdR8.

Could you also try turning on that option? If the Google fonts domain is still showing on your page, kindly send the page URL here so we can inspect it further.

    Regards,
    Karla

Thank you for the great video. But: I have set all this up exactly the same way. Therefore, I assume an error in the theme or through the Kadence Block Plugin. 2 Intallations load the Regular Fonts from the Google server and not locally.

    Hi @anna88sabu,

I’m not able to replicate this using Kadence theme and Kadence Blocks. Can you post a link to your site?

    Kindly,

    Hannah
