• Is there a way to geographically index WP links? From what I’ve been reading it seems most plugins involve tagging posts, the blog itself, etc.

What I would love is a Google Map displayed at the top of my links page, mapping the location (and linking to the homepage and/or local anchor) of the various blogs, newspapers, etc. I have in my links. Geo data would managed either within WordPress’ links admin (by repurposing a field like Notes perhaps and XFN) or through a separate custom admin.

Ideas? Anybody have this working? Seems like a good application of geo tagging, no?

  • I’m new to WordPress, but would like something like this, too. I found this – is this what you meant?

thanks that is a cool plugin. it is however designed for use with posts, not wordpress links.

I aggree. I’d love some way to map Pages as well as posts. The map would then be cool way to navigate the site.

The Geo plugin only adds location information to Posts. Since Pages are really posts in the DB it can’t be too tricky to accomodate pages too.

Anybody done this? If not I may be tempted to have a go.
